How can therapy help?
Hi! I am so glad you found me. My name is Stephanie Shubert and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with people in Colorado, California, and Michigan to find freedom from the stories that are holding them back. My clients trust me to hear their story, even the chapters they hide from others. I can help you to make connections to how your past is impacting your progress towards the life you want and deserve.
I specialize in helping people who might call themselves “messy.” People who feel inadequate for having not lived life in the straight line they perceive others to be living. People who want to feel more trusting of themselves and more connected to the people they love.
I see people every day who feel like they are faking competence, whether it be parenting or professional progress, while they perceive it is as being effortless for everyone else. They live in fear of being discovered, so they hold back on showing their true gifts.
Call it masking, call it imposter syndrome, call it the hot mess express... It is often the story our minds tell us that allow the temporary chaos in our mind to determine how we view reality.
I help people find new confidence and ease in their lives. I can help you find your voice.
As a therapist who specializes in working with neurodivergent adults and their families, I will never promise “six easy steps to normal brain.” Life is a constant process of adjusting, fine-tuning, and sometimes starting over.
What I offer is a path towards more self-compassion, a deeper understanding of your mind, and a safe space to explore those darker chapters you might want to hide from.
"Mental health problems don't define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and feel the rain, but you are not the rain."

Fill out the form below or email me. A member of my team will reach out to schedule an initial consult and set up your portal to complete the necessary paperwork to begin.
We will meet via Zoom for 15 minutes to explore your goals, ask questions, and see if we feel like a good fit.
Typically, we start off with weekly 50 minute sessions. I do offer extended sessions for couples or during times of escalated stress. We'll establish goals for our time together and we'll check in periodically to explicitly discuss how the process is going for you.
When preparing for our time together, please be intentional in finding a private space with limited distractions. Since I work with so many parents, I understand how challenging this can be, but it is an important factor.
If you're always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.
